Ireland's Folk Band of the Year, The High Kings, are the most exciting Irish ballad group to emerge since the Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem. As their last names suggest, the band members come from royal pedigrees in the world of Irish music and are steeped in a lifelong tradition of the ballad. Playing 13 instruments between themselves, and with voices that were the leads in Riverdance and in Broadway productions, The High Kings live up to their reputation as a phenomenal live act. More

Mermaid presents Viviane, one of the most stunning voices in contemporary Portuguese music. Her distinctive style has at its core the beautiful Portuguese tradition of Fado, a genre defined by its plaintive, soulful lyrics and melancholic tone. Born in Nice, Viviane also draws on the French chanson she heard in her youth counting Edith Piaf and Jacques Brel amongst her influences. Listening to her music however, it is easy to tell that Viviane's heart belongs to Fado as she surrounds her lavish voice with a fittingly traditional line-up of flute, Portuguese guitar, viola and double bass. Undoubtedly an evening for lovers of song. More

Beoga, from County Antrim, were formed in 2002, and have become one of the most popular and influential ensembles in modern Irish music.
Though the bedrock of their sound lies firmly within the Irish tradition, they incorporate other genres' nuances such as bluesy riffs, Astor Piazzola-style jazz, and a raunchy New Orleans jamboree vibe into their wonderfully bouncy Irish sound. More
