Dermot Dunne has established himself as one of the leading Irish classical accordionist's of his generation. Versatility has been the hallmark of his performances. Besides performing classics from Bach to Liszt and contemporary music composed for his instrument he has guested with diverse acts such as The Blind Boys of Alabama, Altan and operatic star Katherine Jenkins. He is joined in this concert of European music by Romanian celloist Adrian Mantu ,from ConTempo, in a programme that includes; De Falla - Suite of Spanish Folk Songs; Piazzolla - Grand Tango; Schubert - Arpeggione Sonata; Williams -Theme music from 'Memoirs of a Geisha'; Brahms - Hungarian Dances.

Perfect Friction is a band featuring seven trad musicians and a world-class vocalist, Rebecca Winckworth, who has toured extensively with Anúna among other groups.
The band's music ranges from high-energy trad sets with a full range of instruments (fiddle, flute, uilleann pipes, concertina, accordion, whistle, bodhran, guitar, piano), to pop and rock songs tastefully arranged with a trad theme. The musicians, all from Wicklow, Dublin and Wexford, include four All-Ireland champions and collectively they deliver a sound that will have your foot tapping and will leave you wondering what the magic ingredient is.

Blas International Summer School of Irish Traditional Music and Dance hosted annually by the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance and set on the magnificent campus at the University of Limerick, Ireland.
In its 16th year, Blas 2012 will run from June 25th through July 6th. Apart from tuition and master classes taught by experts in Irish music and dance, a whole range of other activities including lectures on Irish Traditional music topics, field-trips, sessions, lunchtime and evening concerts, & céilís are held throughout the 2 weeks.
