    In 2012 Trinity College Library Dublin will mark the tercentenary of the laying of the foundation stone of the Old Library, one of the great libraries of the Western world. The balance and symmetry of the architecture have made the building an icon for the organisation of human thought and expression. Its collections span over a millennium of recorded thought. To commemorate the occasion a one-day conference will be held on the 25th June 2012. The conference will examine aspects of the physical structure of the Library, and its alterations through the centuries, as well as focusing on the context within which its renowned early printed books and manuscripts holdings have developed.     The first Pipeworks Summer School is based around the existence in Ireland of an instrument built using eighteenth-century organ-building techniques: the 2010 Henk van Eeken organ in Holy Trinity Church, Crosshaven, Co.Cork. It will feature the distinguished German organist, organologist and author, Harald Vogel (Hochschule für Künste, Bremen), who will make his inaugural visit to Ireland on this occasion. Prof. Vogel will give two masterclasses and will give the keynote address at a symposium which will explore the idea of a native organ tradition in Ireland. He will also give an organ recital. More

Their vision was that the youth of the area would have an opportunity to play traditional Irish music and learn Irish Traditional songs. They had their first concert in September 2008 in "An Chrannóg".
