    Slideluck Potshow is a NYC-based arts non-profit, with an international reputation, that aims to bring people together around food and photography, and to give people an interesting, engaging, and fun platform for sharing art with their community. Launching the first SLPS in Ireland on July 12th, in conjunction with the PHOTOIRELAND FESTIVAL, we will be combing regional food cooked by local restaurants and guests, with first class photographic multimedia slideshows. The evening begins with a couple hours of mingling and dining on home-cooked dishes, and then the lights are dimmed, the crowd is hushed, and a spectacular slideshow commences. More

    Before arriving in Erris, I imagined a place that would be full of thatched cottages, stuck in a quaint time warp of de Valera style comely maidens dancing at cross roads, far from the madding intrusion of 21st century technology. Over the past five years, I have become more familiar with Erris through photographing its geographical and interpersonal landscapes. My fascination with the area inspired me to investigate how the people there lived. The reality is somewhat different from the place I had imagined. I found a West of Ireland that was modern, technologically aware and socially networked - but a West of Ireland that still maintains the stunning, quaint and visual elements that we associate with it,along with its traditional welcome. More
