"The Bauhaus had used the gothic cathedral as the image of what the school was meant to be: a place where artisans of every field, whether glassmakers or stonecutters or painters or architects, worked together, anonymously, to serve a purpose higher than themselves."
The Space of Art is a one day symposium exploring art, craft and architecture through themes and ideas present in the work and life of Josef Albers. Albers was a member of the original Bauhaus school in Germany which emphasised the connection between artists, architects and craftspeople. More
