"Patchwork with its magnificent colour, patterns and symmetry has never failed to inspire awe and respect in the eye of the beholder, and the skill which started centuries ago as a hard times' craft has developed into an art of its own. Patchwork bridges the gap between art and craft and not only has a visual effect, it also appeals to the sense of touch. It is soothing, calming, hard work and wonderful all rolled into one."
