Playing a cocktail of well known songs from The Democratic Republic of Congo plus their own compositions, their concerts will usually start with some gently swaying traditional Congolese Rumba, loaded with Cuban influences and made popular by legendary bands like Luambo Franco's TPOK Jazz & Ochestre Matimilla, the signature sound of Kinshasa in the late 70s. Once the audience has warmed up, the band will turn the heat up further and after a few gear changes The Lace are in overdrive, playing the latest Kinois' Soukous dance music. With fast, interweaving rhythmic guitars and some sublime solos they will take the audience with them, without fail, for a true Congolese Soukous dance workout. More

This concert is a culmination of a week's work in all aspects of musical theatre for 15 - 18 year olds which takes place in the Ursuline Convent each year. The concert will include choruses and solos from shows, some well known, and some not so well known. There will also be some choreographed numbers and some scenes staged from the big shows. All in all, this concert is a showcase for the great young talent that exists around the country. More
