The project featured more than 1,500 students in 90 schools, working with 120 architects around the country to design a creative response to the concept 'a space for learning'. Students worked with architects to create and to submit their design ideas to an IAF panel and ten teams were chosen to create exhibits based on their designs for the touring exhibition. More

Abbey Road Artists Studios Athlone
You are invited to Abbey Road Artist's Studios in Athlone for an exhibition of housing projects by Architecture Republic.
The theme of the exhibition is the act of making domestic space; investigating innovative ways of housing the modern family in all its variants. As society develops and evolves, the accepted standard of the family house is no longer as relevant as it once was, and as a society we must adapt and grow our housing stock in ways which meet the challenges of this new orthodoxy. The exhibition will explore a variety of refurbishments, extensions, conversions and new-build housing on urban-infill sites. It consists of 20 projects each accompanied by drawings, conceptual images and scale models. More

What happens when the citizens of a small town - bar one tardy and disaffected drop-out -begin transforming one by one into a herd of rampaging pachyderms? Will the louche Berenger manage to cling to the scraps of his humanity when the town Logician, the Grocer, the Humanist, the ubiquitous Old Lady and even his closest friend Jean, are sprouting horns and turning a distasteful shade of grey? You can only predict things after they have happened.

Growing up is hard.
Awkward silences when you want to talk, really talk, to people your own age, people who are just as confused and bewildered as you are. Teetering on the edge of riot and raging against the collapse of society, a place that will never live up to your teenage dreams. So what's the point?
In the basement of an abandoned factory four members of a teenage band meet to rehearse and a deep, dark and revealing journey of unspoken tension, hidden emotion and adolescent rivalry unfolds.
Written by Jon Fosse and translated by David Harrower, this is a rare opportunity to see a play by the world's most performed playwright. More
