The fabulously experienced artists of KCAT Studio, well known now through the recent Living Colour documentary on RTE, have been inspiring and supporting the students of Transition Year in the CBS to develop a vision of Callan 500 years from now, and to bring that vision to life in sculpture. Pat Shortt's new one-man comedy show charts the life of Dixie Walsh (Jumbo Breakfast Roll, Where Did My Money Go) a solo lounge musician. The show is a tribute night to Dixie where all his peers and friends (the audience) come to celebrate his career. During the night Dixie reminisces about the path his career has taken and the struggles he has had to endure to get to the top of his game. Until now the much loved Dixie Walsh was a character who appeared in two of Pat's sell out shows - "You Won't Get Away With That Here" and "The Hall ". More

The festival club was originally conceived as a 'Jazz Jam Session' venue, and on Saturday and Sunday night two of our festival performers will be continuing the tradition with a few special guests, whilst keeping the dance floor rocking.
The Festival Club Cafe will be open from midnight, selling hot drinks, pizza, pasties, cakes etc to keep everyone's energy up! We cannot sell alcohol, but you are welcome to bring your own.

St Colman's Cathedral 49-bell Carillon
The 49-bell Carillon of St Colman's Cathedral in Cobh is the only such instrument in the Republic and the largest in Ireland and Britain. Recitals take place throughout the year but especially on most Sunday afternoons from 4.30 to 5.30 from May to September and are usually presented by the Cathedral Carillonneur, Adrian Gebruers, with occasional guest recitals by visiting performers from at home and abroad. Dún a Rí Forest Park
This competition is a search for a short story inspired by the magic of Dún a Rí Forest Park, Kingscourt, Co. Cavan. It aims to create a lasting legacy for the Forest which also acknowledges the existence of the unique sculptural works that have been commissioned for the Forest. This short story could be viewed as a modern day legend that informs popular vocabulary associated with the Forest and contemporary Irish identity. The finished work will be published in e-book format and formally launched in August 2012 in conjunction with the sculptural work commissioned for the Forest. The winner will also be awarded €500 and a commemorative scroll. More
