On 22 February, the Gallery launched the facsimile edition of Silâns Magazine, the influential publication produced and edited between 1964 and 1965 by Barry Flanagan and his fellow students Alistair Jackson and Rudy Leenders in St. Martin's School of Art. The Silâns editions - the title is taken from the phonetic spelling of silence in French - are a valuable insight into a period of significant artistic creativity, experimentation and enquiry in London. Project Arts Centre
Coinciding with the exhibition A MacGuffin and Some Other Things, Project Arts Centre continues its new experimental Grotto series, with an installation by David Fagan entitled Sensation. Fagan works with the idea of a 'dirty work' - an object that is aesthetically pleasurable and ready for display, but that is also self-consciously underdeveloped as a finished artwork.
In this way, Fagan poses the question: 'how and where does one display a guilty pleasure?' Engaging with the idea of the cabinet as a less salubrious, low-rent space, Fagan re-imagines it as prime real estate for a peepshow. More

Butler Gallery
Fiona Larkin's work arises from an interest in the lives of others. In discovering ways of understanding and engaging with others, the work finds form in a variety of media from action to video to drawing. The camera is used to engage reflexively and directly with viewers. The work surrenders to the determination of significant chance elements, for example: a stranger marked with an unusual emblem, a collection of 'yellow' images gathered through casual sightings, or to the kindness of strangers. Larkin's interventions become connective tissue between action, material production and the viewer's access to the story. More
