eva International - After the Future
19th May 2012 - 12th Aug 2012
eva International (formerly ev+a) is an artist-centred biennial of visual art that works with acclaimed guest curators to present innovative exhibitions across the city of Limerick, Ireland.
Entitled After the Future, eva 2012 is curated by Annie Fletcher who has selected over 40 dynamic Irish and international artist projects from over 2,000 proposals submitted from 76 countries.
The exhibition will take place in both gallery and non-gallery spaces across the city, and a complimentary programme of talks, workshops and events accompanies the exhibition. A highlight is sure to be the return of Luc Deleu’s Construction X. Originally created for eva 1994, it will be recreated in the same location on Arthur’s Quay Park some 18 years later to provide a direct link between the past and the present. Other artists chosen for eva International 2012 work in a host of mediums including film and video, sculpture, painting and installation maketing eva the ideal opportunity to sample dynamic, urgent and relevant contemporary artists at this unprecedentated time of change. Admission to eva is FREE.
